A lot of players are underage and really KOS as much as people say it happens on Rust. In that case, if you don't get into a tribe they will butcher you carelessly. I assume you're North American and will try to stick to an official server, which are always full of people. There are many factors that determine whether you can survive in 2. Personally I would say wait for the big update due sometime early next year (no guarantee) and if you're still interested, others still play the game, and the update looks good, get it and hopefully you won't regret it! Never realised this before but it's pretty true. Survival games can also yield 4 hundred hours of gameplay and you think you have enjoyed it thoroughly but in reality you focus on specific memories and remember how much of that was mere grinding I'm hoping the 'big' update will encourage many to play more after being bored of it for months recently. Its a fun game and I feel as though I have got my money's worth of entertainment from it. That being said, I can't realistically ever see the game coming out as a fully finished product (like Rust for many years already) and I can understand why you wouldn't want to buy it for that reason. I've talked briefly with the lead dev and I know that the guys are very committed to this game. To many players who don't read the blogs and change logs it definitely would appear that it has been abandoned. The devs post weekly on showing the progress they're making but it often feels like the progress they make rarely translates into actual in-game content. The lack of content is partly due to this, but also because they refuse to release unfinished content. The key problem with Hurtworld is that they don't have enough people in their development team its something like 5 people trying to make their 'perfect' game. Yep, I see what you mean and I think the same too. I feel like Rust has little PvE features of the sort I mentioned? I'm totally not for butchering and demolishing other players' progress, though I enjoy aggressive pve such as hunting or taking down boss creaturers, but maybe that's not a thing present in either games. Thanks everyone in advance for reading, and for the time you might invest to gie me a feedback.ĮDIT: I forgot to mention my focus is not on PvP, I dig base building, crafting, farming and breeding (it was something I deeply loved in Ark). In particular, I would like to take the occasion to ask how frequent are server wipes on Hurtworld (on rust, they seem to occur on a basis.) and if playing on official servers in two people would be as hard as on Rust due to the reported hostility and immaturity of the average player on there. I found several threads around and some have satisfied my questions, though alas they are very old - given both games are in Early Access. I'm posting this here, because between the two Hurtworld seems more pleasing, I appreciate the flavour its graphics and scenarios have, can't say what it is, precisely. Lately I've been considering buying one of them, but feel like if someone who knows them well compared them with pros and cons I would feel certain in my choice. I've put around 4 hundred hours into Ark last summer, and have been following for (I think around) a year the development of both Rust and Hurtworld.
